Designed by British Architect David Adjaye. I love the
effect that this glass gives; it’s so pretty and metallic.; it looks like a piece
of Art Deco jewelry. The angles of the glass create a herringbone effect that I
really like.

Colour
Kim Bennett Lavacot, is a Seattle Based architect that created
this design. There is so much colour and personality here. It looks pretty
stunning next to the rough and natural I-Beams and stone fireplace wall!

A San Fran Design
I came across this delightful designer on my morning web
surf. The San Francisco based designer, Jiun Ho created this stunning residence
that hits the right chord for me; soft, elegant and eclectic. I love the choice
of colour and pattern used here. Natural wood tones, and well thought-out
details and symmetry make this home a retreat. Even his accent colour, bright
red, has a subdued character within the apartment. Hats off to you Mr. Ho!

Dine Out
I have experienced the amazing restaurants in Portland but I
unfortunately, missed this beauty. Interior Designer, Jessica Helgerson
designed the superb Adina restaurant. The pallet is neutral and earthy but the
design comes across, playful and stimulating. The backlit graphic print wall is
pretty spectacular and that same motif has been mirrored in the back-bar
detail. The angle-cut tile at the front of the bar is something that I never
would have done, but it really seems to work here. Add a little exposed brick
and ceiling, killer wood beams, and soft, distinctive lighting. Voila! This is
a location I would definitely enjoy dining at.

My New Neighborhood

We’ve moved residences! I am now nestled under the Granville
Street Bridge in Vancouver, just steps away from the Granville Island
community!
Granville Island is located
on the water’s edge of False Creek. This quant part of town used to be a mud
flat/sand bar that would be covered with water when the tide was high. They
later filled in the location to create a permanent island. The island was predominantly
used as an industrial area until the buildings were converted to art galleries, markets
and restaurants. Now it’s a bustling destination for visiting tourists and locals!
