Weekend Overview

I surprised Anders with a long weekend in Portland, Oregon. We stayed in a very cool little boutique hotel; Hotel Modera. It had a laid back vibe with modern finishes, unique local art and tasteful interior design. My favourite part was the courtyard that we looked out on from our guest suite. It was an outdoor space located adjacent to Nel Centro (the restaurant at the hotel) and featured lounge seating, fire pits and a huge ‘living wall’. Live Jazz plays on Friday and Saturday nights.

We spent the weekend eating our way through Portland. We enjoyed Latin cuisine at Oba, Italian/French at Nel Centro, Thai and Vietnamese at Pok Pok, and an amazing steak dinner at the Urban Farmer at The Nines Hotel. We also enjoyed a few delicacies from the Urban Food Carts that are so popular there. So needless to say, we will be hitting the gym a little harder this week. We did manage to do a lot of walking though (between restaurants) and made it out to the very beautiful Washington Park.
